Born and raised in Nixburg, Alabama, Rodney Terich Leonard is the author of Another Land of My Body (Four Way Books, 2024) which received a starred review in Library Journal and Sweetgum & Lightning (Four Way Books, 2021), winner of the Northern California Publishers and Authors Gold Award, the Human Relations Indie Book Award, finalist for the National Indie Excellence Award and semi-finalist for The Poetry Society of Virginia Poetry Book Award. An Air Force veteran who served during the Gulf War, his society profiles and poems have appeared in Southern Humanities Review, BOMB Magazine, The Cortland Review, The Southern Review,  Four Way Review, The New York Times, The Amsterdam News  and other publications. He is the recipient of fellowships from Callaloo, Cave Canem and The CATWALK Institute. An independent art curator, Leonard earned degrees from The New School, New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University and Teachers College Columbia University.
